Rio Ranch Andalusians

The Andalusian, also known as the Pure Spanish Horse, existed as a breed as early as the 15th century originating on the Iberian Peninsula. With a colorful and interesting past these fine horses were prized by nobility for their intelligence, docility and athleticism.

It was during the 19th century that this breed's future was threatened as warfare, disease, and crossbreeding drastically reduced numbers. Until the 1960's exports were restricted and even today horses must go through an extensive process in order to become fully registered.

Adhering to the standards set by the ANCCE, (Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders) our foundation sire, Gamarro Font, has received certification.
